New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time since October. He had one too with reporters in the locker room.
As expected, Peppers was advised by his lawyers not to speak about the events that led to his being placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
The NFL has launched an ongoing investigation into the matter and Peppers still has a scheduled trial date of Jan. 22.
“You have questions about what happened earlier in the season, but on the advice of my attorneys, I am not at liberty to discuss details,” Peppers said. I look forward to doing this in court. …Certainly grateful [to be back].
“This is Thanksgiving. I would be grateful for that now. I’m just happy to be back with the guys, happy to be back in the building, happy to be able to do what I love to do again.”
Peppers isn't sure if he'll play Sunday, and he admitted he's spoken to the owners about his situation.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft declared the team back in October whether the allegations of domestic violence against him were true.
The incident stems from Peppers' arrest including “assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, strangulation and possession of cocaine.”
After Peppers was released on bail, his lawyer told reporters that there was evidence he expected .
