There are many statistics you can use to show how bad the Raiders have been on the ground this season. First and foremost, it's simply a matter of looking at their numbers compared to the rest of the league, where they rank last in yards (692) and yards per carry (3.5).
Another option would be to compare their rush numbers to the last feature before this season.
Josh Jacobs was allowed to leave as a free agent this offseason. A year after the team signed him as a franchise player.
The Packers appear comfortable with their investment. Jacobs is currently fourth in the league with 762 rushing yards. That's right, he has more yards alone than the entire Raiders team in the same number of games.
If Jacobs continues to run at his season pace of 84.7 yards per game, he will actually surpass his 2023 13-game total (805) this week.
The Packers are also 6-3 this season.
It's safe to say he's enjoying his time in Green Bay instead of running into walls in the Raiders' offense.
Jacobs isn't the only individual defender leaving the Raiders behind either. He is one of five defensive backs this season to have more rushing yards AND average more yards per game than the entire Raiders team (76.9).
Derrck Henry – 112 ypg (10)
Saquon Barkley – 110.1 ypg (9)
Chuba Hubbard – 81.8 ypg (10)
Josh Jacobs – 84.7 ypg (9)
Jahmyr Gibbs – 80.8 ypg (9)
Such numbers were a key reason the Raiders fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy last week after just nine games, along with two other members of the offensive coaching staff.
At the start of the season, they said they would build the offense around the run game, and that plan has proven to be one of the main reasons for their downfall. They are 2-7 after losing five straight.
The Raiders are now coming off the bye week and are hoping that the changes in the offensive personnel will have a positive impact on the team's performance.
