Bucs bring back DB Mike Edwards after claiming him off waivers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had some serious issues in the secondary heading into the 2024 season. They gave up a lot of passing yards, gave up big plays and proved they have a hard time forcing turnovers.

However, the team could get a boost in this category if defenseman Mike Edwards has something to say about it.

Edwards has been around the ball since his time at Kentucky, when he had 10 interceptions. In the NFL, Edwards has eight of them, three of which resulted in touchdowns.

Edwards said: “It was my thing and I made it to the league. I feel like I've been trying to find the ball since my freshman year and the name “the ball hawk” stuck with me. Try to find the ball and get it – that's my main thing. Beyond that, just try to bring everything into defense, be it tackling or blitzing. . .”

The Bucs' secondary added many new players alongside Edwards over the course of the bye week. They also brought in Troy Hill, who has a tendency to find the ball and create turnovers.

All in all, the Bucs secondary now has every chance to produce as a unit.
