The Indianapolis On Monday, they announced that they had signed defensive tackle Trysten Hill to the practice squad.
After the team signed linebacker Liam Anderson from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Saturday, there was a gap so there was no need to make a corresponding cut.
Hill is a former second-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys from Central Florida. In addition to playing for Dallas, Hill also spent time with Arizona, Cleveland and New England.
Over the course of his career, Hill has appeared in 34 games, including five starts. According to Pro Football Reference, he recorded 30 total pressures and two sacks. He also made 40 total tackles.
Hill has also played 45 snaps on special teams in his career, primarily on the field goal blocking unit.
Hill most recently appeared in two games for the Patriots last season, playing 14 defensive snaps.
Adding Hill to the practice squad bolsters the Colts' defensive line after they released Adam Gotsis from the 53-man roster during the week to make room for Anderson.
In addition to Hill, Titus Leo is the other defensive lineman on the Colts practice squad.
