Bryce Young is doing enough to remain the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
Head coach Dave Canales, who largely (and perhaps notoriously) The quarterback position, which has been held most of the season, made relatively early progress last Sunday. In a slight departure from the norm, he as the Week 13 starter immediately after the team against the Kansas City Chiefs.
But did he make even more progress with Young on Wednesday?
Canales was asked if the 23-year-old passer will continue in his job.
“If he continues to show us the kind of progress we're looking for and he continues to earn these moments, then he'll be there,” he replied. “And the thing I'm most excited about is that there is weekly growth.
“So we’re doing it weekly again. I know that was my language, but he really takes responsibility for it and pushes us to do it. And ultimately he gives us a chance to win in the weeks he plays.”
Young who was After a poor two-game start to the season, he returned to the starting lineup in Week 8 in place of the injured Andy Dalton.
In his four starts since then, he completed 61.0 percent of his passes for 784 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions while leading the Panthers to two wins.
