8 Names to replace Bengals coach

Everything should be on the table Cincinnati Bengals after the team successfully squandered an MVP-caliber year from Joe Burrow.

This includes firing head coach Zac Taylor.

Many will scoff at such an idea, especially since Taylor is the one who helped the team to a Super Bowl appearance. But the Bengals have also modernized in many ways during the Burrow era, so there's no guarantee that another coach will ever be given the latitude that Marvin Lewis once had.

As the Bengals enter Week 14 at 4-8, here's an updated list of possible Taylor replacements if the team makes a big change.

Ben Johnson, offensive coordinator, Detroit Lions

If the Bengals want to get back on offense, what Ben Johnson has done with Jared Goff and Co. is pretty exciting.

Joe Brady, offensive coordinator, Buffalo Bills

It's a bit of a cliché to list Joe Brady because of the LSU-Burrow connection. He doesn't have a perfect track record with the professionals either. But… it's pretty hard to ignore what he's doing with Josh Allen right now.

Aaron Glenn, defensive coordinator, Detroit Lions

Aaron Glenn has somehow overcome the loss of Aidan Hutchinson, so one has to assume he can utilize the current talent better than the Bengals currently do. He also has an excellent reputation as a player-first coach.

Kliff Kingsbury, offensive coordinator, Washington Commanders

It was a matter of time before Kingsbury came back into the conversation, and Jayden Daniels' breakthrough in Washington sped things up. All in all, the Bengals don't really need offensive help, but you have to imagine he could get an interview.

Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator, Los Angeles Chargers

Minter did a great job with Jim Harbaugh's Chargers. He has the best defense in the NFL despite using offshoots like Poona Ford at nose tackle and two fifth-round cornerbacks on the perimeter.

Mike Vrabel, personnel consultant, Cleveland Browns

Vrabel completely failed in Tennessee, partly because of Burrow and the Bengals, funnily enough. But many would also argue that he overachieved given what he had to work with. Would his culture-building methods be able to overcome Cincinnati's questionable ownership and draft issues?

Bill Belichick, former head coach of the New England Patriots

Belichick's draft record has been nothing short of terrible. He would likely want greater control, which the Bengals wouldn't give up. And yet you have to mention your name in such conversations. If he could close the gap on the Bengals for the chance to coach Joe Burrow, who's to say no?

Ejiro Evero, Defensive Coordinator, Carolina Panthers

Ejiro Evero had to put up with some terrible squads in Carolina, but still performed well. Hence so many head coaching interviews. Plus…he was used to the rehab project the Bengals threw his way.
