There are various aspects to the game of cricket as two teams engage in an intense battle with bat and ball on the field, especially in the longest and purest format of the game, Test cricket. While players talk about various elements and emotions that arise during the game, they often try to gain the upper hand over the other through verbal communication, i.e. sledding or aggression on the field.
However, there are times when despite a difficult time or a back and forth battle between the players of the respective teams, like in the ongoing first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) played between Australia and Australia, India became clear. While Team India dominated most of the sessions, players from both teams had some light-hearted moments. One such case has attracted a lot of attention from fans and cricket experts alike. On the third day of the Perth Test, star batsman Virat Kohli was seen chatting with the Australian players.
Australia's top off-spin wizard Nathan Lyon bowled an absolute ripper that almost got rid of Kohli at one stage when the ball missed leg stump by a whisker after taking a sharp turn from the off-stump channel . However, after both the batsman and the wicketkeeper completely missed the ball while running towards the non-striker's end, Lyon told Kohli that his throw was “decent”. In response, Kohli, who seemed to think that the off-spinner was in seventh heaven after the sharp turn, joked and asked him to stay calm.
