With an aim to strengthen its support team, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise has decided to hire the candidate who has enjoyed recent success in domestic cricket.
This will be Salvi's second stint in the cash-rich league, having previously worked as an assistant bowling coach at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Who is RCB's new bowling coach Omkar Salvi?
Omkar Salvi is the current head coach of the Mumbai team in domestic cricket, who led Mumbai to win the Ranji Trophy in March this year, followed by the Irani Cup in October.
He is the brother of former Indian cricketer Aavishkar Salvi. Omkar only played one first-class game for Railways in 2005, but his focus on technical improvement and player development has earned him a reputation as an effective coach.
RCB's plan for IPL 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who made it to the playoffs in the IPL 2024, are yet to win a trophy despite participating since the tournament began in 2008.
Earlier this year, RCB appointed Dinesh Karthik as its batting coach and mentor for the 2025 IPL season. While the franchise retained Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal ahead of the IPL mega auction.
With the auction scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25, the franchise will look to rope in some of the power hitters and reliable bowlers for its squad. RCB still has 83 crores in its wallet along with three Right to Match (RTM) cards and the franchise will definitely want to use this opportunity to strengthen its core.
The addition of the successful bowling coach will undoubtedly give RCB some confidence, while it will remain a challenge for Salvi given the batting-friendly surface and shorter boundaries at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
With IPL 2025 Salvi, who is currently Mumbai's head coach, is expected to start in the last week of March and will join RCB once his contract ends in March next year.
